Can i use the displayport end to connect to my monitor and then the hdmi to my motherboard?

Sadly no, it is strictly a displayport to hdmi cable, you can try finding another cable that will work, or just use hdmi or dvi if you monitor has it.

Yep, the cable you found is strictly one way, so you'd want to either use this or find a hdmi to display port, not vice versa.

He never said he had the cable, and the cable he posted is strictly DisplayPort to Hdmi which is opposite of what he needs.

as it appears not to have a circuit board in 1 of the connectors then can be used both ways not as it states in that link. I used to make cables so I know what goes into them.

Aight, well one might work (DP to HDMI) one WILL work (HDMI to DVI-D), i'd go the safe way cause it's quality is just as good and is sure to work.
