can I use the exact same ram but different speed?

Hi! i am thinking of upgrading my ram to 16 gb (currently i have Ballistix Sport LT Red 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 mhz )
and i found the exact same ram and brand (Ballistix Sport LT Red 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 mhz

The only thing is that the ram speed is diffrent , if it's possible may i have to overclock the 2400 mhz to 2666 mhz to get the best performance?

If u are trying to overclock the 2400 sticks further, then u will be taking your own risk for doing so.
