Okay so this might be a little bit long, but for reference my specs are below.
  • mother board - gigabyte b550 ud ac. ,
  • CPU- AMD Ryzen 5 5600 G
  • GPU- AMD Radeon RX 6600
I stream on twitch,(ghostgiirl22) and recently bought the Elgato 4K60 proMK2. When I first got it, I put it into the 4th PCIe slot everything worked fine. i did an update and it stopped working. i called Elgato they replaced but still had the same issue where the elgato app didnt register the signal when my game switched from 60 HZ to 120 HZ. I called Elgato again. They did a diagnostic and concluded that the PCIE slot didn't have enough band with. its needs to be 2x4 and mine slots are 2x1. issues is my gpu is pluged into my only pcie slot that could support my elgato. Now my questions is if i got an M2 adapter would i use that to plug in my GPU?

Side note i also did call cyberpowerpc (those guys were dumb AF) but one guy metions i could posible get an adapter for my 2 x1 PCIE slot to "make it " a 2x16 PCIE slot... is that a thing ? like would it still push out enough bandwith to support my elgato?

You'd need the B550M-DS3H-AC model to get a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot. Few Gigabyte B550 boards offer more than x1 :/

As to your M.2 GPU question, yes it's possible but it will be a huge compromise. In addition to the slot adapter, you would need a power adapter as well. All that to run your RX6600 in PCIe 3.0 x4 instead of x16.
You would lose too much in GPU performance in my opinion.

As much as it is a hassle, you're better off searching for a B550 motherboard with a PCIe x 16 slot and a PCIe x4 slot, and selling your current motherboard.
