hey i bought an MSI GTX 970 OC edition a couple of months ago and its doing great but i would like to go to higher resolutions than 1080p so i'm looking into possibly buying the MSI GTX 970 100ME Edition that comes out later this month. however i'm worried that it might not be compatible in with the one i've got already in SLI. anyone know if it'll work?
i've also notices the cooler on the card blocks the second SLI thing for the bridge, does that matter or do you only need one for a dual card SLI.

basic spec list:
CPU: I5 3570K @ 4Ghz
GPU: MSI GTX 970 OC (obviously)
RAM: 1x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400Mhz
MOBO: ASRock Z77 Extreme 4

im gonna get another 8GB stick or the same ram by the way, i know its better to have two sticks rather than one.
but yeah, any help would be appreciated. cheers.

I would wait to see the specs before you make your decision of course.

If it is a "premium" card vs the current OC version you have now, you would be wasting money. Of course that depends on the price of the 100me as well.

Lets say, you bought the 100me first. Would you buy an OC version over the 100me for a second card?

The only reason I am saying this is because of all the "what if's" currently at hand.

BUT, to answer your questions
Yes they will SLI
and
No, only 1 set of SLI fingers needs to be used with 2 cards. When you get to Tri-SLI all the SLI fingers will be used.
