So nzxt has a bracket for lga 1700, however, the bracket that comes with the cooler can be adjusted to fit the holes for the new socket. This can be done because the screw holder can be moved up and down a bit in place to be adjusted. I'm wondering if anyone did this and if it worked. I don't wanna wait "7-14" business days for the new bracket it's so stupid.

It's not "stupid" to wait a few days, or even a week or two, to get the right hardware which is specifically designed for use with the socket you want to use it for. Stupid is using the wrong hardware and creating a problem or causing damage to your hardware.

Here is something to SERIOUSLY think about, and considering this is using hardware MEANT for use with the socket and platform, you might want to seriously reconsider using anything that wasn't meant for use specifically with it.

Part 1

Part 2

You might actually want to see if NZXT offers the kit for sale online, as you might be able to get it faster that way if you don't want to wait and don't mind ordering it. I had to do this with the adapter kit for my Noctua air cooler which also was going to take about a week or two. Cost me five bucks and had it in two days. PLUS I did the washer mod, and it worked well.

haven't done anything yet so nothing is harmed. but thank you for your comment. will listen to the advice, just sucks watching ur hardware sit there

Yes, I agree, but you know what sucks worse? Watching your hardware sit there with no chance it's ever going to work because you were impatient and now you've damaged something which is not covered by the warranty and you have to either buy it again or suck it up. That is worse, and I see 100 people a year here do it, at least. Look into finding a kit or wait for the adapter to come in.

If it was a good idea to try using the existing hardware, which won't work anyhow most likely, as my noctua mounting hardware also has multiple mount locations so that it can slide, etc., but it won't line up right and will be off. Which will make the problem it already has worse in all probability.

Be patient, even though it sucks.

yes I'm thinking of getting the hyper 212 v2 which comes with the bracket and using the nzxt one when it comes in, its cheap and can be here by tmrw so its a plan

This would be a MUCH, MUCH better cooler, and is the same price as the v2. Far higher quality, and good as a backup or to use on another system. Much better performance than any of the Hyper 212 coolers as well.

Thank you I will compare both and decide on one if they don't ship it tmrw

Or the Gammaxx 400 v2, is less expensive than the 212 v2 and performs about the same.
All coolers need to have the manufacturer ship a bracket, many on reddit used the stick bracket while they wait and I ended up doing the same, CPU is idle at 30-33c haven't put a load on it as I'm waiting for ek bracket to come on sat as its the same as the one nzxt is sending me. Seems like it solid with good pressure
