Can I use the old backplate for my new cooler?

Hello, I am getting a noctua nh-d15 for my fx-8350 and the new cooler does not come with a backplate.
Can I use the stock backplate that came with the motherboard?

Yes, the retention bracket goes away but the backplate is used.
