Can I use the Pixel's USB-C port as a display out?

This question actually stems from seeing some of the laptop products that allow you to have an external full size GPU that connects through a USB-C port. With C being so flexible, I saw that there were Type-C to HDMI adapters that you could buy, and I was wondering if I could use one of these to plug my Pixel XL into my TV to use video streaming apps?

No. To my knowledge the Pixel is not equipped with "alternate display mode" so it can not output audio/visual like that.

you should be able to just use a Chromecast instead though to do essentially the same thing.

On at least 10 different forums I've seen people saying that it's not possible but it absolutely is! You just need a USB C to USB 3.0 adapter to make it work.
