Hey everyone, I have a question about the thermal paste that come pre-applied with the NZXT Kraken X61, because I'm planning on buying parts for a gaming PC and since this is my first time I don't want to mess up. So here is what I am asking, if I were to overclock the i7-6700k to probably 4.4 - 4.6GHz and overclock a Asus GTX 1070 STRIX, can I use the thermal paste on the cooler or do I use the Arctic? This build will cost me $2000 and I don't want to spend that money and mess up, thanks!

Solution
Yes. Of course, you can clean off the pre-applied material and use something else, but it is not necessary. The pre-applied product is actually very effective.
NO!

You must use the $82/gram Antarctic RareEarth. Platinum based, N2 infused. The N2 actually bonds with the platinum AND the CPU face, to provide 110% heat transfer.
It's hard to find, but when you use it, you'll see approx 0.8 degree Kelvin better temps, per core.
Do the math!

(I'm joking! The preapplied stuff is just fine)
