Can i use the same name for my AD network and my domain

Can I use "mydomain.com" as my AD network, or do I have to use "mydomain.local"?

Won't that cause problems w/ DNS?

No reason that it should. That is the way that I used to run a domain with ~1,000 computers. We had separate DNS servers for internal and external use.
