Can i use this adapter thing to crossfirex another HD 7850 with my current one?

i got Gigabyte HD 7850 2GB oc edition
i was thinking of crossfiring this thing with another HD 7850 but i got only one PCI-E x16 Slot that i'm using right now to power up my video card, but i also got PCI-E x1 slot in my motherboard and i found this on eBay

Will these things work?

it'll work, but it'll be so throttled that it'd be a waste of money for the adapter and the card as you'll only have 1/16th of the PCI-E bandwidth available to you.

I wouldn't, they'd be no point, the card would only work at about 1/2 to 1/4 speed
