Hello guys.

I just registered here bacause I got a question.
Tomorrow I'm planning to buy an HDD, but not sure if I can use it with my motherboard.
My motherboard is Asus p8h61-mx r2.0 and the HDD I was thinking to buy is HDD 1 TB, WD10EZEX, SATA-6Gb, 7200 rpm, 64 MB blue edition.

I'm from Bosnia and atm I can't really afford an SSD and there are not so many HDD's to choose. Also is 1TB quite enough for gaming?

My PC specs are:
Mobo: Asus p8h61-mx r2.0
CPU: Intel i3 3250
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 750 ti 2gb ddr5
RAM: 6gb ddr3 1666 mhz.
PSU: Thermaltake Smart SE 630w
HDD: Some old 80GB one 🙁 (the only reason I'm buying a new HDD)
Monitor: LG Flatron w1946 1366x768

Solution
Hi, according the your mobo specs, it supports up to 4 x SATA 3Gb/s, the 1TB WD10EZEX will work as the interface is backwards compatible.

1TB is standard size imo and because of the close price, no point getting 500GB. It would be a good pair with an SSD in the future. WD Blue is a good choice for boot disk, blacks are pricier but offer longer warranty and performance. Greens are generally for storage.

If I'm right that WD Blue 1TB HDD is SATA 6GB, so I will still be able to connect it with my 3gb motherboard? Yeah the Black one is a bit more expensive, can't afford it at the moment.

Thanks a lot for your help, I was scared to buy it because I thought it might to work.
My 80GB one is pretty low. Not able to install any of the new games or even to think about GTA 5 or Call of Duty, only League of Legends and some small stuff.

Got one more question if you're able to help me.

So when I get the new HDD tomorrow, will I be able to transfer my Windows 10 and/or games from my old 80gb hdd to the 1tb hdd one?

I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks a lot again for all your help mate and wish all best for you. :)
