For AMD stick to 1866 , most AMD setups won't run 2400.

To even think 2400 you will want a strong 8350/8370 or better CPU and will prob need an OC on it. The 2400 if a good price will work, but may have to run at 2133 or 1866 with a good FX CPU

I have a AMD FX 8370. So, you don't think it will run the RAM stock?

It might, I added a small OC to my 8370 to run 2400 (then too I have a full load of 32GB), so might get by at stock 😉

I have a decent liquid cooler on my 8370, and it usually runs 12 C to 15 C idle. I haven't seen it go over 42 C when playing high demand games. So, I might try to overclock it a tad, but I've never overclocked before, so I'd have to take a tutorial. Worse case scenario, if I didn't get different RAM, it's possible to underclock the RAM--no?

I also didn't mention that I have 32 GB of the RAM. Is that too much to try?

Yes, you can underclock, I did an article on 32GB sets of 2400 on my Crossfire/8370 and ran them at 2400, 2133, 1866 and down to 1600 in the testing 😉
