Can I use two 4GB RAM sticks and one 8GB stick at the same time?

You won't know till you try it , mixing modules is hit and miss even if identical.

2X8 from the same retail set is usually a better choice , less stress on the Memory Controller , but 4x4 should work fine if from the same set.
