A little background this is my very first build, so I apologize in advance if this has been answered before. I purchased a 3800x, aorus master X570, 2x8gb sticks of ram, 2070 super, and a 500gb samsung evo plus m.2 that I got on a bundle deal at amazon. I already had purchased a 1tb adata xpg sx8200 pro m.2. I have the option to return one of them or just keep them and take advantage of the extra storage. I‘ve read a few postings were they are setting one of them to boot windows and the other for storage. I just want to get everyones opinion of what my options are.

Solution
there are 3 m.2 slots on that board so it can handle 2 of the drives.

you'll need to check out p 32 of the manual

https://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_x570-aorus-master_1002_190708_e.pdf

to see how it works. looks like using top 2 m.2 slots won't take away any sata ports but using a 3rd does.

general idea is always to have ONLY the drive you wish to install windows onto installed at the start. only after windows is up and running, do you start plugging in extra data drives. use the top M2A slot for the windows drive and then the second for the other drive and it should work out ok for you.
