can i use vga to dvi+dvi to hdmi with amd 7770?

Is it possible to connect my vga monitor with the needed adaptors to my 7770 card? i did so and it doesn't seem to work, the display is not detected

It won't work. Vga and dvi-i can do analog but hdmi is digital only. You need a converter not just a regular adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1ZZ0XH3965

i found a way around it i used the vga dvi adapter(on the old monitor) with the dvi entry on the card, and the dvi hdmi adapter with the hdmi one( i was using the newer monitor in the dvi slot, i just did some switching). thanks for the response.
