Hi I have a gbyte z170n wifi mobo with 2x sata express ports, is it possible to utilise the PCIe part of the Sata express to create a x4 PCIE slot so that i can connect a 10gbe nic?

Solution
No, they are using the SATA protocol, not PCIe. You are basically asking if you can plug things directly into the PCH.

You'll just have to invest in a larger motherboard, or one with 10Gb ethernet already installed.

Maybe find a board with thunderbolt ports?
