Can I wipe an active drive?

Let's say I want to format my SSD... but I'm on my SSD right now.

How should I go about formatting it?

I realized that I messed up when installing Windows into my SSD and wish to go back to factory settings for my SSD.

Not while you're actively using it.

You're going to have to reinstall Windows and wipe it during the installation.

To properly assist you we need more info. The drive is effectively wiped when you install Windows to it. So you could simply re install Windows and choose to delete the existing partitions during install.
If what you want is to restore a branded PC to its factory status you will need to follow instructions based on the particular brand and model and hope that you have not already deleted the restore partition/files.
