can i wipe old hard drive on new computer

As the title says, can i wipe old hard drive on new computer without messing it up and if so how?

The easiest way is to install it .
Then format it.
This will make it appear as if it contains no data. All old data will be overwritten by new data.
If you need to completely get rid of the data on it,( giving it to someone else) use a program such as drive sweeper to write6 passes of 0sand1s to it.

The hdd wont clash with my ssd if they both have windows 10 on it?

Install the SSD.
Install windows.
Install old hard drive and format or wipe it.
DO NOT install it before Installing windows on the SSD.
If done in this order NO problems at all.
