Can i5 7600k GTX 1070ti handle AAA titles at 1440p?

I have an i5 7600k running on a GTX 1070ti. Should I get a 1080p 144hz monitor or a 1440p 144hz monitor?

I'd also appreciate if you can link the monitor you would suggest.

I was told that my system would not be able to handle AAA games at 1440p.

Yea really depends on the game. If you plan on playing a bunch of RPG style games make sure you get one with gsync. In games like the witcher 3 I only get 60-70 fps and I have a 7700k and GTX 1080 at 1440p 144hz.

I have the dell s2417dg and absolutely love the monitor. Got it for $370.
