Can Intel Optane 900p be used with AMD hardware?

Hi.

It's been awhile since I've looked into any hardware changes.

Can I safely assume the latest AMD Ryzen motherboards are capable of booting this 900p drive? I'd like to be able to install the OS on this drive and have it as the boot device, on an AMD motherboard. Is that doable?

My goal is to do programming, video editing, shader compilation and some rendering. I was thinking of going with a Threadripper and this beast of a drive that offers great 4k random reads.

And in further reading, I see nothing that specifically states it is locked to an Intel platform, like the Optane cache memory is.
So, this should work with your proposed AMD based system.

Specifically, this quote:

"The Optane SSD 900P has enough space to be used as general-purpose storage, and larger capacity models can be introduced as necessary. There's no need to tangle with Intel's caching software and its associated platform lock-in as with the Optane Memory modules."
