Can iphone autosave photos to local drive?

I want my iphone to save a copy of the photos it takes or receives on a local hard drive, in addition to or instead of relying on icloud. How?

There is a dropbox app that will do this also. If you link the same dropbox account to a computer all of your photos will automatically sync to it and will be saved to a hard drive. Depending on the amount of photos you have you might have to purchase the paid subscription and that runs you about 100 dollars a year.
