Can isopropyl alcohol vapor damage mousepads and cables?

Since isopropyl alcohol is found in many computer cleaning products, can the vapor emanating from the isopropyl alcohol corrode, stiffen or react with polymers?

For example, if I use isopropyl alcohol to clean my desk, will its vapor cause any damage to the mousepad, cables and synthetic rubber?

I used 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean my mousepad before, and it ruined the surface by hardening the polymer fibers. I wonder if the vapor can do the same thing.

Thanks

Solution
just clean your desk with windex or other cleaner instead of 70%

if you allow the surface to dry before putting your pad back on the desk then you should be fine.

that 70% will ruin your keyboard and mouse surfaces as well as anything else that is plastic or reacts with alcohol. even windex which is dilluted is still not suggested for those surfaces.

soap and water are best on only a damp cloth are best for such surfaces. windex is fine on the desk

Thanks for your answer!
I did not put the mouse pad on the wet surface, but I did put it right beside the isopropyl alcohol covered area. Can this be an issue?

if it feels fine, its likely fine. in the future i would suggest doing as i do and removing things from the desk or pushing them to the one side and cleaning then moving stuff back when dry and cleaning the rest. also using something like windex or other more diluted cleaner
