This is my pc build, The mobo says that it has a dual dvi, hdmi and vga ports to connect to a monitor. Could i use one of those ports to get the full 144hz out of my monitor or would i need to find a mobo with displayport?

That processor does not have on-board graphics. The motherboard ports won't work.

So it has to have onboard graphics to be able to run the 144hz? I’m a little confused

The monitor needs to be connected to the GPU to get 144Hz refresh rate. I'd recommend displayport, unless you're 100% sure that the monitor input is HDMI 2.0b (which supports 144HZ) The video ports on the mobo are not going to provide any video signal, because the Ryzen 5 2600 CPU doesn't have integrated video.
