Hello.
To follow up on my last two posts:
I changed the RAM after running Memtest and showed problems on the modules, not the motherboard slots, and I stopped getting BSoDs daily (yay!), but now the computer just crashes and does not reboot by itself. The power button has to be held down and the computer has to forcefully shutdown. The audio loops and the display freezes when the hard crash happens. These hard crashes happens once every two days to a week. So I followed the advice from people on my second post and reinstalled Windows. No luck.
Others told me my motherboard may be faulty, but I have no way of testing if it is. I haven't also checked my PSU, but I assume it's working fine. My question is do loose cables from the PSU to the 8-pin, GPU, etc. cause these types of crashes because there is not enough power getting to them?
Others also say to use Windows Event Viewer but I have no idea how to use it to troubleshoot; not even a simple Google search could help me.
Specs: (built around mid-April)
i5 6600 @ 3.3GHz
MSI Gaming H170 M3 (oddly enough, this product is no longer listed in MSI's website)
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB @ 2600MHz (the MoBo downclocks it to 21300MHz)
Corsair RM650X Gold
MSI GTX 970
The case is a NZXT S340, so the motherboard is not mounted to a manual standoff because the case comes with one.
Any help is appreciated. I've been dealing with this problem for 2 months and it's frustrating because this is a first build.
EDIT: MSI's motherboards are not showing on their website, so I assume there is an error on the webpage(?)
EDIT 2: The computer will crash whenever games are running or when it is idle.
