Question Can low amounts of ram cause game crashes?

Hello, I have been experiencing frequent game crashes and I can't pinpoint why. The main game I have problems with is the recent Modern Warfare 2. My only lead may be my ram since I only have 2 sticks 8 gb Corsair vengeance 3200mh ram equaling up to 16 gb. I do not think that it is a software problem since I have restarted windows and cleaned my drives. My other pc specs are as follows,
• Ryzen 7 5700x
•Evga RTX 3070 ti
•Asus Rog Strix b450-f gaming
I installed the CPU recently with no prior problems, and I am thinking of upgrading my ram. What do you guys think of this?

I think I found my problem, even though I said I checked my drivers I ended up switching to the studio version of the Nvidia drivers which seemed to fix it. I really appreciate you replying to my post, thanks a ton!

There was a known issue with NVIDIA drivers and MW2; the latest Beta update supposedly fixed the problems, though I'm still geting semi-random crashes (maybe 1 per two hours of gameplay).
