Hello people simple question, my led controller has a magnet so it can be attached to any metal part of my pc, I have place it on the back of the panel that holds the motherboard, just like in the picture below.. my question is, will this magnet damage my motherboard since its less than a quarter of a inch away from my motherboard? and also can the magnets from led strip or controller damage any of the components?? thanks!

Even then I very much doubt it as magnets would need to be very strong ones to corrupt HDD data and would need to be actually touching the HDD. It's unlikely those LED-strip magnets are anywhere near the strength I'm talking about anyway.

The other components are immune from damage by magnetism.

You raised a good question but you've nothing to worry about there.

Well a woofer, yes. Now that does contain a strong magnet, relatively large one too. The magnet in mine is 3.5" diameter.

I've got a 2" satellite speaker sitting just 2" away from one of my external HDDs, both been like that for several years (5+) and the HDD is fine - - no data loss at all. No doubt the plastic enclosure is effectively blocking any magnetism getting through anyway.
