Can make my build better, performance wise?

I just bought parts for my new build, but wanting to know if you see anything that I could add/upgrade that could increase overall performance. I have a $400 budget, here is my current build:

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Cases, Titanium grey
PSU: XFX ProSeries Core Edition P1550SXXB9 550W 80Plus Bronze
CPU: Xeon Quad-Core Processor E3-1230V2 3.3GHz 5.0GT/s 8MB LGA 1155
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master RR-B10-212P-G1 Hyper 212 Plus
HDD1: Crucial m4 256GB 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb
HDD2: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache
Memory: G.SKILL F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL Ripjaws X 16GB 2X8GB
Motherboard: ASRock LGA1155/Intel Z75/DDR3 Motherboard Z75 PRO3
Video: GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 Windforce OC 2048MB GDDR5 256-bit

Not looking to upgrade monitor. Thanks!

I'm a little confused about which motherboard you're looking at.
Why a xeon? Are you thinking about duals in the future? Get a motherboard that supports that if so.
Your video card recommendation for power is minimum 550W so you might want to go a little bigger.

I posted about getting a new build and it was recommended that I buy a xeon. I mentioned I had no desire to overclock so they suggested a xeon processor instead of the i7. I believe it was due to the price with the same performance as an i7. I already have bought these parts, again this was from a previous post and this was the build that was suggested to me for the budget I had, which was $1500.

OK I see you took advice for your build, which is a good one.
In your first post here your were asking for improvement then I would recommend a higher psu. Or, I would get a second ssd to either run in raid 0 or 1 array for more volume as the 2 drives look like one big one, or as the raid 1 where they run simultaneously making for a faster drive.

So 2 SSD drives in a raid 1 will be faster than the SSD by itself? Also can you recommend a specific PSU for this build that you think will be a good one?

Yes, the 2 in raid will make it faster, not by a great margin of course but because the raid 2 config, (mirroring without parity or striping), the data is written and read identically to two drives, thereby producing a "mirrored set"; the read requests are serviced by either of the two drives containing the requested data, whichever one involves least seek time. And they are written to at the same time so it doesn't increase or decrease the the write speed. Make sure you put them of the same controller (sata ports), usually the onboard controller (sata 0 and 1 typically) for best performance.

I don't mean to bash your psu, it is a very good one. Only that the video card, (the whole computer actually) recommends a minimum of 550w so I wouldn't want to be to close to the max during heavy game play or whatever. So something like this XFX P1-650X-XXB9 650W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply found HERE - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207022&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-Power+Supplies-_-N82E16817207022&gclid=COP7xpC56LUCFQ_znAodKGcA6A would be just great. Hopefully, if you haven't used yours yet you can probably do an exchange for the one you have and only pay the difference.

I bought the PSU from SuperBiiz.com, I dont see the psu on their site. Trying to see if they will do a return/swap, so I saw this psu, would this work?

Yes, that one looks great. And what a price!!! Let me know how it goes.
Oh, and about the second ssd? Make sure you get the same make, model and size. I'm pretty sure the mirroring for raid 1 only works that way. Traditionally, the two drives in a mirror are identical in model and capacity, but gmirror(8) does not require that. Mirrors created with dissimilar drives will have a capacity equal to that of the smallest drive in the mirror. Extra space on larger drives will be unused. So keep that in mind when shopping if you go that route.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I also ordered a different SATA drive to store files on, got the raptor 10,000rpm drive. Wasnt that much more expensive then the normal 7200rpm I was originally getting. But since I canceled this along with the memory I decided to order the raptor drive instead.

I don't see that memory on either the asrock QVL or the GSkill support site as being compatible for your board. Now those are not all inclusive I generally go with either one of those recommendations. The GSkill site HERE - http://gskill.com/configurator2.php?pid=2&model=1611 - Has a pretty big list of what is compatible for your board so If it's not too late I would find something on that list and substitute it if you can. Again - it's not all inclusive and what you have picked out MIGHT work, but I tend to play it safe and get what's recommended by either the motherboard or memory manufacturers.

Thats going to suck if it doesnt work because I already cancelled the order once, I have had these parts sitting here in my office for over a week now because I need the memory. Waiting again will affect my schedule.

When I search the web I see others who have purchased this memory for the same mobo that I have bought. I will cross my fingers on this one, normally in the past i have always bought parts from a local store so I have the luxury of returning it right away if an issue occurred. This is the first time building a system from parts ordered online.

The exact same model? F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL. It wasn't F3-12800CL9Q-16GBZL (4Gx4), F3-12800CL10Q-32GBZL (8Gx4) or something like that? If you're right that's great. I buy parts on line all the time and it is usually a pain in the #&^ to return and or exchange so I feel your pain. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

It looks like I still can cancel the order for the memory. I need to know your opinion right away, do you recommend I cancel the memory? If so what memory do you recommend I order instead?

Pick one of these,

Kingston HyperX 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model KHX1866C9D3K4/16GX
G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL
Kingston HyperX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory XMP HyperX Blu Model KHX16C10B1K2/16X -
Kingston HyperX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory HyperX Plug n Play Model KHX16C9P1K2/16

If you get the HyperX 2X8GB kit you can always upgrade with another kit later for 32GB. no use for it now but you never know about the future lol
Anyway, it's a good place to start but you need to check availability from your place. Here's a link to the asrock QVL,
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z75%20Pro3/?cat=Memory
if they don't have the ones I mentioned you should pick from there. The faster the speed the more I like em. But it's your money so spend wisely/frivolously.

Check with wherever you're buying your parts from to get the best affordable ones you can get.

Awesome! Ordered last night and got it today, I paid for overnight. This is why I like ordering from Amazon. So all that is left is my storage hdd, but not needed to get started. Tomorrow I will get started on my build, crossing my fingers things will go smooth and I can get back up and running!
