Question can monitor make fps worse ingame?

full system spec? include make and model of the psu and monitor

If your GPU is incapable of delivering the necessary frame rates at the native resolution of the monitor then yes that can be possible but like my colleague above has asked, it could be another issue.

Also include the driver versions you're working with on your system.
