Can more than one DAC be used at the same time?

As in, if you connect more than one DACs, does the effect add? I only got intrigued because I've read a lot of people saying "I use this-this DAC with this-this DAC"

One more question. I have Audio-Technica m50. I'm looking for a reasonable DAC. Is there any better choice than Fiio e18? E18 runs on android too, so is there any other DAC which runs on android too?

are you sure that you arent confusing "i use this DAC with this AMP" as that makes alot more sense. there are also dac+amp combination units.

a dac (digital analog converter) takes a digital signal and converts it to an electrical signal. you cannot daisy chain them together.

i have the m50 and it doesnt require an external amp as its powered by phones, ipods, laptops, etcetera just fine.

now, if you added an amp it might sound a bit better but not by a huge margin. if you added a dac you could have an improvement if the device you are playing from has a poor dac inside otherwise not much of an improvement. are you an audiophile?

if you really want a dac+amp that is portable then the e17 or e18 will work. if you are going to be sitting at a desk and dont need it to be portable then there are some other products you could use.

I might be confusing them then.
I am not what you call an ordinary audiophile XD I'm a bit obsessive, i listen to music day and night.
I wanted a better audio quality DAC, but portability is not a problem. i do not go out of house much, and if i do, i don't play music. I usually use PC for music.
can you kindly enlighten me on the other options, provided portability is not my problem? I want to juice out the best possible audio in the time i listen to music.

ie... you are going to be playing all of your music using the computer and do not need it to work with an android phone?

if that is the case then the desktop variants of the fiio might be a better choice as they are more powerful and can support a better pair of headphones whenever you decide to upgrade from the m50s to something better.

i would recommend looking on head-fi forums for "best headphone dac amp" for some ideas and look for the ones which have a wall plug for power and which connect up to your pc.

yes, my main input will be PC. i'm on that most of the day. I only listen to android (note 3) when I have no choice. the sound is good but the volume is not as loud as i like.
thanks for the suggestion, my friend I will look it up. I learned something new today, that computer dacs are more powerful, esp the ones which require power thanks!
i will search on my own about fiio amps for now, but may I have your personal choice on this? thanks
