You install the updated BIOS (with your existing CPU) before physically installing the new CPU. Just making sure you know this.

The process goes something like this:
Download BIOS update and copy to a USB drive
Using the BIOS update utility (as your hardware is configured now) apply the update
When the update is complete, shut the system down and then remove the existing CPU and replace with the new one (you'll need new thermal compound if re-using the existing CPU cooler).
Power system on, access BIOS and make sure your settings are configured as desired (saving, of course).
Game on!

So you can get into the BIOS, but it doesn't boot? Have you verified that your desired boot device is set to default?
