hey there, some monitors I see advertised with 3D gaming capability. Can any 144 Hz monitor do it though? I have a Philips 242G gaming monitor. I'd like to be able to play Crysis 3 in 3D.

Yes you can play games on your 144hz screen. I would be more worried if you couldn't. (I also have a 144hz monitor) Not every monitor can do '3d', you will typically see it listed as a feature on the ones that do.

One thing to note, achieving a stable 144fps in game can be quite demanding on your GPU, you might have to lower some graphical settings in game to achieve 100+ fps.

Especially when running games in '3d' mode.

Not going to lie to you here, but you need to buy an expensive '3d' gaming pack from Nvidia, not sure how much it will costs Americans.

See if you can find the 3d vision kit second hand perhaps, you might get a fair price, buying new is very expensive.

As many have obviously said you can 3D game on a 144Hz monitor better than most others, how ever you'll need to be mindful of the fact that Nvidia 3D has to display frames through both eyes, so if you're playing at 300fps in CS:GO for example, you'll have the advantages of 3D, however your framerate and refresh rate will be chopped in half exactly. Also, an Nvidia GPU is obviously best for this given Nvidia's 3D capabilities.
