You do not necessarily have to upgrade your psu. The 7750 sips power. Check to see how many amps are on the +12v rail on your psu. It should be written on a sticker on the side of your psu. Ignore amd's recommendation for a psu in this case. I think the hd7750 requires at least 16A on the +12v rail. Regardless, the 7750 only uses around 55w at load. Needing at least 16A on the +12v rail is to account for all the components that draw power from it (I.e. CPU, ram, gpu, etc).

XFX recommends 450W PSU minimum. Often PSU that come with prebuilt PC's are not the best and don't even supply the Watts they claim (so yours may already not even supply 300W as it states). Recommend getting a quality 450W PSU (at least)

The modular one really helps keeps things inside the case tidy and leave airflow as un-restricted as possible

i would consider and want to upgraded the PSU but after a few days of research and a call to Gateway (i and them just dont know what motherboard i use) im not good with PC's. i wanted to upgraded my PSU but i know vertially nothing about the computer and have contacted the manufacture and told they just dont know whats in my (the PC they build)

The reason i looked after the radeon hd 7750 is because i heard you do not have to upgrade the GPU in most cases and the fact that my quad processor only used 35w i felt it left me with some overhead room. but i didnt want to run the GPU past 80% to find out if they built it with a chines firecracker.

system info:
500gb hard drive
dvd/cd burner
quad core apu+fan
6gbs ram
windows 8.1

I don't know what's up with the influx of people reading amd's website and thinking it's gospel, the 7750 using next to nothing in term of power, as long as his psu isn't awful, he should be absolutely fine with 300w

Like I said earlier, just check how many amps your psu has. Look for a sticker on the side of your psu. It will show how many amps it has on the +12v rail. I'm sure you will be fine though. I think the 7750 only uses around 55w at full load. If your cpu only uses 35w, the rest of your system can't use more than another 40w. That's a total of 130W. Even if we assume all of that is drawn from the +12v rail (which it isn't), that means you only need around 11Amps. Even a cheap, cheap wrongly labeled 300w no-name psu that comes with pre-built computers will provide at least that much power.

But check just to make sure =)
