Hey guys, I am new to pc building.

I was wondering if my DeepCool 450w psu can power an rx470D (that's right, with the big D) because I'm planning to buy one for an upgrade
for my old r7 250.

Here are my current specs:

CPU: AMD A8 - 7680
CPU cooler: DeepCool Ice Edge Mini FS v2.0

Mobo: Emaxx fm2+ a70
RAM: 4GB DDR3 PC1600
HDD: 240GB Hitachi 7200rpm
SSD: 120GB WD Green

I'm not planning on overclocking things or playing heavy titles, I mainly use it for my school stuff but wanted to upgrade the GPU so my brother can game while I'm away. He only plays e-sports titles like csgo, league and 6siege.

In theory maybe. What is the exact model as DeepCool PSUs are typically low quality. For example lets say you have the DeepCool DN450, it only is able to deliver 408W on the 12V rail. http://www.deepcool.com/product/powersupply/2017-10/10_7114.shtml Just by looking at that we know that the platform is older and the PSU is more 400W than 450W since almost everything on modern computers runs on the 12V rail.

Currently using the DeepCool DE600, apologies: thought I mentioned the exact model

That is not a 450W power supply. It only allows for 300W on the 12V rail but says can be a peak of 450W. That PSU is very low quality and should not be used, especially with any dGPU.

Thanks for the help, but just wanted to know your thoughts on this one, I found it to be very... surprising. A person also answered to my thread over the LTT forums I'm just going to quote this one, "I've run one on a Dell Vostro with a i5-2500 and its factory 350w PSU with no issues at all."

Here are some budget PSU recommendations from PSU expert Jonnyguru. https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/recommended-psu-to-buy.3603290/#post-21736677 A 450W will be plenty, unless you get the Corsair CV as only the 650W is recommended.

Do you have any thoughts on the Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 700w, contacted the local supplier near my area and told me this is the only PSU they can offer for now because of the pandemic, parts can't come through from the city.

That is a very bad PSU, here is the review for the 600W version. https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2018/10/08/cooler-master-masterwatt-lite-600w-230v-power-supply/ If you can get the Cooler Master MWE V2 that is at least decent, hopefully the 80+ Bronze edition for better efficiency. What country are you in?

From the Philippines. Came up to a conclusion that I gotta wait for the CV series but gonna buy the 470D first because of the low stocks. Hope and wish the pandemic to be over so everyone can enjoy and I can get the PSU (We're governed by clowns, please helps us )
