Can my 500w ps run a gtx 970

Have a thermaltake smart 500w sp-500ah2nkw power supply running a gtx 750 ti, if I upgrade to a gtx 970 will it be fine?

It's not a great PSU, budget orientated. A lot will depend on the balance of the components.

It could be ok, but wouldn't be recommended. Considering a good quality PSU shouldn't set you back more than $40 or so, I'd be inclined to upgrade the PSU too.
