The intel 660p m.2 2280 1tb ssd is on sale now for a super low price so i want to get that but not sure if my motherboard supports it? I know it has a m.2 slot which currently has a 120gb ssd boot drive in it, can i just replace it with the intel 660p? Never done any sort of drive relacement before so im a noob at it.

Or maybe i can buy it now and use it later? Since i plan to upgrade my cpu+mobo anyway when ryzen3000 releases

Yes it is supported. Where you currently have your boot drive installed there you will need to reinstall the OS onto the new drive.
Could you outline the steps i need to take in order to replace my current boot drive? How do i transfer the data from my boot drive to the new 660p? I have another 1tb hdd in my system if thats relevant
