So I've had this computer for quite some time now and I was looking to upgrade to the new GTX 1080 when it releases, but I don't really know if my build is compatible and can support it
Here are the specs:

CPU:AMD FX(tm)-6350 Six-Core Processor 3.90 GHz
Motherboard:ASRock Fatal1ty Killer 990fx
Current GPU:GTX 970
PSU:900W
RAM:16gb

Thank you for your time, and please ask me any information about my build! :)

Sure it will work but your cpu wont be using the 100% of the 1080.So you could run gpu dependant games at high settings but on cpu threaded games you will experience low fps or stuttering.

Also, you have a very good mobo, overclock your cpu to a 4,5 ghz stage, its free power and more fps.

It depends from your budget, but to be consired upgrade you have to purchase atleast a haswell-skylake core i5,which are great for gaming and strong for any single gpu.
