can my computer handle a 144hz monitor?

looking to buy a 144hz monitor, I play games such as fortnite pubg csgo and maybe a random other game. my specs are


CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz

Memory: 12GB

GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 960 4GB

It can do but not for all games. I guess it won't keep up with more than 90 for pubg and fortnite. Check it yourself by monitoring your fps. Short answer, if you are gaming now in 60 hz go for the upgrade. Even if your rig doesn't do 144 fps, you can lock the framerate to your achieved, i.e 80 or 90, which makes great difference from 60. If you are gaming in 75 hz monitor, it doesn't worth it.
