Can my computer handle the GTX460

I want to up grade my graphics card from a gt240 to a gtx460 my system is a HP Elite m9350f it is all stock besides from the grpahics card. Will my system be able to handle it? If not what would be the best graphic card i could get for gaming that my system could handle.

No it wouldn't be able to handle it, you'd need a new power supply to handle it. The best you could do would be to get a card that doesn't have any external graphics cards, that is IF you're unwilling to also upgrade your power supply. You can get a decent 500 watt PSU from corsair or thermaltake and it'll handle most modern cards with ease.

Jip you are set for ANY new graphics card that can physically fit in your case. Newest cards just need a PCI-express 16x port and 2.0 or 2.1 PCI-e support.
Which your motherboard has!
The stock PSU should also be good enough if HP wasn't being stingy, but they usually are not.

So feel freeto get your GTX460 (I would suggest the ASUS Card).

Umm, Novuake, almost all HP machines either come with a 300 watt or 350 watt PSU, in which both cases won't have enough wattage or amperage to handle a 460.

He's going to need a better power supply. Minimum recommendation should be a quality 450 watt PSU or greater. PSU's are fairly cheap, and they're one of the best things you can spend money on for a quality part. It'll ensure stable performance and in some cases can reduce your power bill in the long run.

That specific PC he has, has a 460W PSU.

Take a look, you have the wrong model.

But yes, if he has any doubts as to the quality of that PSU, he should get a better one from Corsair or Coolermaster.

Yes, but the GTX 460 is better for around the same price. Atleast here in South Africa (although its rare these days).

But if you have any issues, replace your PSU with a better ons.
