I have an amd fx 8350
8gb of corsair 1600 mhz ram (2x4gb)
asus m5a9r2.0 motherboard
hyper 212 evo cooler

I plan on buying an amd r9 295x2. try not to persuade me into buying something else because i have my reasons for this card.

All im wondering is can my 750w corsair cx edition 80+ bronze power supply handle it?
Thanks!

How long would it last? And if so, what could be the possible damages I would encounter if I do use it.

Shouldn't even be a question. the performance and quality of the PSU is terrible at best, and I would never EVER trust it with a 295x2. You'd want something like the EVGA SUperNOVA G2 1000

The 295x2 is essentially two 290x cards, those and an AMD FX-series processor with a 125W TDP (and perhaps more if you're overclocking). You're looking at a minimum of 650w of actual draw there, you need to add overhead for safety and overclocking, other components, add that to the overall poor quality of the CX series and you probably won't even get it to run properly. FX series chips can draw 300W+ at load if you overclock them.

This list is good for helping you pick out a new PSU: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Buy a new PSU, I'd recommend 1000 watts or so to give you enough overhead to add a few things later.

Let's not pump him with rainbows, oh biased representative.

The CX/CXM/CS/CSM/VS series units are well below minimum standards for being considered "decent" units.

As noted above, for adequate headroom consider looking into a quality 1000W unit from a trusted brand.

How is my post biased sammy sung? it was a straight to the point reply... Lets be real here for a second. His CX750 as I stated is no where near close to be recommended for that system he provided, hence, I suggested that's its best for him to get at least a 1000w PSU. Noticed no name was mentioned, recommendation based on OP's hardware.

Yes, CX/CXM/CS/CSM/VS are not the best PSU in its category, but they're far from being worst. They are not meant for high end/gaming builds. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it for enthusiast builds, but they do get the job done for OEM system upgrades and basic builds.
