Can my CPU handle a Radeon 7850?

I currently have a Core 2 Duo E8600 3.3 gHZ processor and an 800W power supply. I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from a 450 GTS to a Radeon 7850. I know my motherboard (EVGA 122-CK-NF68 Nvidia NForce 680i SLI) supports the card, but I was told that if the CPU cannot handle the card, it isn't worth it. I know my processor is outdated, so how can I tell if my processor will be able to handle the new card?

I'm basing that on how an e8600 compares to my Phenom II. It's about 25% weaker than my Phenom II, which bottlenecks my GTX 660 GC in some games. Looking at the relative performance between an e8600 and Phenom II, and the relative performance between an HD 7850 and GTX 660 GC, your e8600 will hold back the 7850 by a little, but not too much and I'm certain it'll still improve your performance by a pretty big amount.

I see. I don't need a card that is really crazy. All I really play is League of Legends. I just want to upgrade the 450GTS because it has been giving me some problems, and the 7850 is higher on the benchmarks than the 450 and isn't expensive. I just wanted to make sure my computer could handle it since I know it's a bit outdated.
