I have a i5 7400 and and 1070 (16gb ram) and I was wondering if I could run the Steam game Dayz Standalone? Does anyone have any opinions?

You're fine to run pretty much every game, let alone Dayz standalone.

If you are uncertain if your pc can handle a game and you don't understand the minimum system requirmends you can alway just buy it on steam and check it out, just make sure you do it within 2 weeks after purchase. If it runs fine you keep the game and if it doesnt just refund it
