[SOLVED] Can my CPU squash the pins under it?

Basically, I switched to a Cooler Master i70 and I noticed that it was exerting quite a bit of pressure upon the CPU, once fastened.

Everything is running fine, temps are great. My question is: the socket has any kind of "limiter" to restrain the cpu from crushing the pins? Or am I going to need another Mobo soon?

For both LGA and PGA sockets, the amount of pressure on pins is limited by the CPU substrate bottoming out on the socket itself. On LGA, the socket's CPU retention mechanism is already doing that and for PGA, the CPU should be resting on the socket too once inserted properly. Pressure from the HSF/block on top of the IHS shouldn't affect pins on properly installed CPUs.
