Can my GPU not handle 4K video quality on Youtube?

I use onboard graphics on my pc. It's the Intel HD 2000. But I tried watching a YouTube video at 1440p and 2160p. Every time I try either of those qualities adobe crashes.
Can my gpu just not handle that high resolution?
My mobo is GA-B75M-D3H
I have 8GB of RAM. Intel core i3 2100.
I've never had any problems with video until I've tried to stream 4k quality.

The intel HD 2000 Graphics are really low end even by integrated graphics standards. Adding a really cheap GPU for 100 dollars or less will benefit you greatly. You can also game on it too with low to medium settings depending on the resolution. I have a 7750 in my wife's rig and she doesn't do any heavy gaming like i do but she has really noticed the improvement in performance coming from an 3570s iGPU.

I have a EVGA GeForce GT 610 I just never got around to putting it in. Would that do better?

I'm assuming you have a miinitor that supports the resolutions you're trying to view. If so, you should be able to view 1440p if you use a Displayport cable. 4K isn't going to happen...

Yes by all means plug that into your PC! You should notice your video problems will disappear.

In a word, no. I don't know if any onboard graphics can stream 4K/QHD, but certainly not a second gen core i3.

I also have to wonder why you would have a 4K display connected to an i3 2100 in the first place. If it is an HTPC, it is probably time to upgrade, or find a dedicated streaming device that touts 4K capability.

I only had 500 dollars at the time to build the pc so the i3 was the best I could get.

Honestly I didn't know that youtube supported those resolutions!

What is your monitor res? Is flash player up to date?
