The HDD is making a clicking noise and slowing down my PC. Can it be fixed, or is it dead? It is also out of warranty, and I don't want to waste my time taking it to the shop if it can't be repaired.

Solution
Is the data on it backed up anywhere else?
If not, do that NOW (if you can).

Then replace.

Hard drives are not really "fixable".
