Can my laptop run oblivion

Can this laptop run oblivion? and if so, would oldblivion help it run and look better. i just want to play the game. computer specs listed below. need more info just ask. I think the graphics card probably isnt good enough. Oh well. if anyone could let me kknow id appreciate it. Thanks.

You might be okay with it. Go to http://www.yougamers.com/ and click on the Games link and find the Oblivion game in there. It will then run an assessment of your machine and tell you whether it is below or at the min specs, or if it's at or exceeds the recommended specs.

It's very reliable and I use it all the time and it's been spot on for every game I've tested.

i havent bought the laptop yet because im such a tight wad and this is by far the most money i have ever spent (as i am 15) and am really thinking it through. i just cant find a graphics card that is similar to do a comparison to the minimum requirements of oblivion as the one for the computer isnt on the list.(as with a bunch of others) but thank you.

Oldblivion is a software full of malware. Norton show 4 Trojans, Kaspersky also. Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c [Kaspersky].
Stay clean.
-As for the use of a common laptop for gaming, i don't recommend such machines for running hi demanding games...u will have soon a colling\heating problem. Laptops are not designed to dissipate an large amount of heat created by a stressed GPU and CPU. After 1 year u may get a good brick out of your computer. At least use a laptop cooler in order to get a longer life . This is not an opinion, is a clear fact... I get to see many of these "door blocks" around, these days.
-Get a low cost gaming rig and a netbook for portability.(in case u really need)

It seems that u are not a demanding gamer..so u will use just one display and maybe not a high resolution, so u will be able to do some modifications in terms of graphics and maybe motherboard, with these builds. A single card like ATI 5750 or ATI 5770 will run well any game on a 1600x 1050 resolution. So, u will save some for the display.

Malware? Funny. My virus scan and Malwarebytes have no problem with it. I'm assuming you're being facetious? That or you are talking about mods for the game that could have malware.

BTW, I don't run Kaspersky, but the last version I ran was 2010 and it never complained about Oblivion.

Oblivion is just a nice, innocent game.
Is funny that u don't have time to read properly my first line, but u dedicate enough time to do a virus scan.

ok, i was first going to start out by getting a netbook, but without the cd drive, i decided not to as i would have to go downloading the security of the internet or buy an external hard drive to put the security disk into. i would also have to use the external harddrive for recovery disks, or just slam em all onto a bunch of flash drives, which would get very confusing. Second, im on a budget of $400, the max i would spend is $500, (only if necessary), as i will need to keep money in savings. third, when i was looking at screen shots comparing oblivion on low and oldblivion, i just said they look better because the comparison picture for oldblivion was clearer and not as bright, so sorry i misunderstood. Finally, the reason i was going to get a laptop in the first place was because i have my old windows xp computer (only 512mb hard drive like 5 years old) and my parents computer which im not allowed to download anything on, and we travel a lot so that's another reason i want a laptop, and i highly doubt i could get a good computer to run oblivion along with a net-book. So i wont download oldblivion as it has Trojans and other crap, but if i were to run oblivion on low, and play it in timed intervals, would that work better than 3hrs at a time?(i wouldn't be sitting on it all day as i am very busy). Also, within my price range, i really highly think that it is impossible to find a gaming laptop.

Oldblivion is not malware, anyone who's modded Oblivion to a degree can tell you that. It's one of the most popular mods out there.

It's got a vast amount on there, some amazing, some rubbish, some weird. A lot of performance improving ones for slower machines as well.

Hah... good luck. Oblivion runs just fine on my $800 Acer AS738PG-6306 @ Medium settings...

However, because Notebooks and Laptops are incredibly compacted and with little room for proper heat management, THIS and many other games causes extremely, extremely unsafe temperatures of both CPU's and the GFX card.

My first day, with the auto-set "Medium" graphics assigned by the game, my computer locked up, the game froze, and then it crashed out. I immediately went and checked the temperatures in PC Wizard and almost crapped myself.

CPU0 AND CPU1 260 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT!!!

That's just about the point where many computers short out and die pertinently... so you see, it isn't weather or not a Notebook/Laptop can actually run the game... it's weather it can HANDLE the heat generated BY running the game!

To date, I don't believe there has EVER been ANY mobile computer able to HANDLE the heat of such intense games without compromising quality (except of course if it is custom made, and costing a fortune to boot). Period.

The best you could expect is about 1 hour on very, very, very low settings, especially on a $400 system. Have fun with the blobs... that'll be about all you'll see, sorry to say. And no, that is absolutely not an exaggeration.



My advice? Spend the $350 on a PS3 + Oblivion, which will actually play, for hours, and not on low settings either. It sucks, but that's PC gaming for you. You get what you pay for, and they squeeze every penny they can out of you for the supped up hardware able to contend with games like these.
