]I need to know whether my laptops motherboard can support a m.2 ssd

Sure looks like a M.2 slot, your spec sheet should tell you of possible expansions.

The laptop is the Medion P6681

Yes it's a M.2

One option was a 128gb SSD M.2 since you don't have a spot open for a secondary 2.5 slim Hard drive.
