Solution
Then you go out and you grab a motherboard not too new and not too expensive.
I would have grabbed him a lga 775 board for his old cpu but nearly all of them wouldn't be enough to do what he wants it to do.
It might be able to, your main problem with that is the raid configuration you would use.
If your buying 2 are you going to use raid 1 mirror or go for raid 5 which would be easier on you.
I suggest getting a very good 1tb hdd and use it for the os, then use the other 2 10tb drives for raid 5 configuration.

That is some other information that will help you decide what will work and wont work.
If needed I know of an old friend of mine somewhere else who could probably tell you what you need.

RAID level 5 requires 3 drives of equal size (minimum). The OP only has 2. Stripe (level 0) or Mirror (level 1) are all that's available with 2 drives. And, unless a robust backup system is in place, level 0 is just asking for data loss when a drive fails, or otherwise goes offline. Although it goes without saying that a robust backup system is mandatory in all cases.

The only thing I've been able to find on that particular motherboard is that it does not (or at least appears not to) have UEFI BIOS and therefore cannot boot off of a drive larger than 2TB. In addition, you will have to use GPT formatting (if using Windows, of course) in order to use the entire 10TB capacity.
