I have a msi h81m-e33 motherboard and I was wondering if it could handle a Gtx 1060. I think it only has one pci slot but the GPU says its a dual slot

Solution
your motherboard is fine. more important is what cpu is in the socket. as long as it is an i5 or better then you will be fine the the gtx1060/rx480 or higher. if you have an i3 then you can expect some cpu bottlenecking in many newer games. pcie 2.0 vs 3.0 means nothing, you would never notice the difference. pcie 3.0 started with ivy bridge in 2012. your haswell has it also.
