I currently have a Hewlett-Packard 3397 motherboard and it has a intel I5-3470 but i want to upgrade it to a Intel Core i7-2700K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80623I72700K will the CPU i want be supported by my motherbaord?

Solution
OEM systems (like HP) can be a bit tricky.

It certainly "should", but there's no guarantees - firmware/BIOS will vary on those systems and, typically, they'll only support CPUs that were available in that tower from the factory/stock.

Welcome to Tom's!
Even if it did, the K variant would be a waste as the motherboard would not allow overclocking.

EDIT: I looked at the wrong motherboard. It is indeed an LGA1155 motherboard. My bad.
