Hello, so basically my computer is quite old now, it's motherboard is from late 2007 to be precise...
and I am looking into buying a new graphics card because my computer can't run new (next-gen) game titles like the Telltale Batman, Mirror's Edge 2 to give some examples...

This is my motherboard model:

If I buy the gtx 1060 from Nvidia would my computer work? can the motherboard handle the card?

I would appreciate all the advice you guys can give me :)
Lots of thanks in advance.

I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 in my computer

My current gpu is around 18cm long, the new one should fit?

Maybe the cpu is not strong enough, but i've read somewhere that ram can compensate, will it work if i don't upgrade my cpu? I currently have the Core 2 Quad

Every time the CPU hits 100% load, the whole rest of the computer has to wait while the CPU finishes it's task. Faster RAM reduces memory latency, which will give your CPU a few % of speed gain... but not enough to make a big difference.. What is your CPU, and have you looked up your CPU in this.. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-3192807/ultimate-bottlenecking-guide.html

The stock GTX 1060 is nearly 30cm. Some aftermarket cards will be shorter. You will have to check the case to see what you can fit.

You do not have much of an upgrade path for the cpu because LGA 775 has been end of life for a long time now. It is a rather old platform so I do expect it will hold back the video card to some degree(It will vary from game to game).
